Vegetation monitoring was set up on Ackers Point during April 2004. The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic (Programme Coordinator, Diploma in Environmental Management, Alice Jones and student Donna Watchman) set up seedling plots across Ackers point. These will be re-measured annually to measure the forest’s response to pest control.

A full report is not expected from the Polytechnic until November 2004.
